It was a mother’s day and I wanted to surprise a mom with flowers. Immediately I thought of 1800FLOWERS. I reached out for my Blackberry and dialed 1800FLOWERS… or so I thought!

After numerous “frustrating” trials I realized that I cannot call 1800FLOWERS from my Blackberry … for that matter any Blackberry!!!

Blackberry buttons are designed and arranged in a very different way, and numbers and letters on Blackberry buttons do not align the same way as that of any standard phone.

Try dialing 1800FLOWERS, 1800RENTACAR, 1800CONTACTS, 1800DRYCLEAN  from Blackberry and you will realize how the basics of “Useful and Usable” have been violated by such a popular and widely use device as Blackberry.
